One year of Internal Medicine at PetDerm
A Thank You from Dr. Chantal McMillan, DVM, MVSc, DACVIM
One year ago, we launched Internal Medicine services at PetDerm with a simple goal: to support pets living with complex, stable medical conditions — and to be there for the pet guardians who love them when answers haven’t been easy to find.
Over the past year, our Internal Medicine team has continued to grow. We were pleased to welcome Dr. Nessa Forde, BVM&S, MRCVS (Small Animal Internal Medicine), Dr. Paige Coutu, DVM, MSc, DACVR (Board‑Certified Veterinary Radiologist), and an additional support team member. We also expanded our diagnostic capabilities with in‑house ultrasound, endoscopy, and X‑ray, allowing us to collaborate closely and provide thoughtful, coordinated care for our patients.
Internal medicine is about more than diagnostics alone. It’s about taking the time to listen, offering clear and honest guidance, and thoughtfully discussing each pet’s unique situation. It means talking through options — including the benefits and limitations — and building a care plan that fits both your pet’s needs and your family’s reality.
At PetDerm, your pet’s comfort — and your confidence in their care — guide every recommendation we make. Our commitment includes:
- Clear, honest guidance — explaining your pet’s condition in simple, understandable terms
- Support at every step — from your first consultation through follow‑up care
- Personalised care plans — thoughtfully tailored to your pet’s unique needs and your family’s reality
- Compassion and expertise — with specialists who collaborate closely in‑house
- Confident home care — so you feel supported and prepared between visits
To the veterinarians who trust us with their patients, and to the pet guardians who allow us to be part of their pets’ journeys — thank you. We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us and for the support of our Calgary community.
Here’s to another year of learning, collaboration, and caring — together. 💙
